The Mess We Live In

A space for the unknown, the immediate, and the unfiltered.

The Mess We Live In is a performance that dives deep into the exploration of the unknown on stage. It’s not about delivering answers—it's about embracing the questions, the uncertainty, and the beauty of what emerges in real time.

At the heart of the piece are five performers from different disciplines, each bringing their own artistic language and expertise. Together, they meet in a moment of collective creation, weaving their practices into a shared performance space that is always shifting and alive.

The process was developed using the Viewpoints method in combination with theater-based exercises. Our central inquiry revolves around authority and power dynamics—how can we create together without hierarchy? How do we make space for listening, risk, and true collaboration?

In our performance, the sound and light systems are open and available to all performers. There is no central control—just responsiveness, play, and shared responsibility. Each time we step on stage, what will emerge is a mystery. But that’s the point.

We have a mic, a space, a sound system,
and a poem for our inner child.

From there, we begin.
